RNC: Clinton’s N.H. loss indicates deeper problems for Democrats

The Republican National Committee said Tuesday night that Hillary Clinton’s loss in New Hampshire indicated a deeper problem within the Democratic Party, explaining that the party establishment’s plans to crown Clinton the nominee apparently did not mirror voters’ wishes.

“The prospect that Democrats could nominate a self-avowed socialist is growing more probable by the day, and shows how off course Hillary Clinton’s coronation has gone,” RNC Chairman Reince Priebus wrote in a statement. “No amount of spin can make up for such a crushing defeat in a state that has for decades been in the Clintons’ corner.”

The Clinton campaign conceded to Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders half an hour before news outlets called the primary. Priebus called the former secretary of state’s loss another “devastating blow” for her team after her too-close-for-comfort win in the Iowa caucuses.

“It’s clear that the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s reckless conduct as secretary of state has become a massive liability for her campaign and that even Democrats find her dishonesty and hypocrisy unacceptable,” Priebus added.
