President Obama sent out a fundraising email attacking Republican Mitt Romney for associating with Donald Trump, who believes Obama was not born in the United States.
“[Romney’s] relying on high-powered special-interest groups and a TV personality who’s spent the last week questioning where I was born,” Obama wrote in the email.

The president asked supporters to “chip in what they can” to bankroll his campaign. His campaign also rolled out a luxury designer line of Obama campaign paraphernalia, such as a tote bag designed by Vera Wang that costs $85 a piece.
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney yesterday derided Trump’s birther beliefs as “one man’s attempt to draw attention to himself.”
