Metro fires track worker arrested in station

Metro has canned a track worker who was charged with public drunkenness and impeding police in a rail station just hours before his next shift started, according to the agency.

Robert Moss was fired on Wednesday, said Metro spokesman Reggie Woodruff. He had worked for the agency for three years.

Until his termination, Moss had been on paid leave while the transit investigated his June 10 arrest inside the Pentagon City station. Officers had spotted a man unsteady on his feet. He then struggled with the officers after trying to run from them, according to Metro.

The arrest, first reported by ARLnow.com, occurred when the man was still in uniform. Moss was off-duty at the time but was slated to return to less than five hours later, according to the agency.
