In a comment that is sure to draw more liberal fire, Rick Perry answered a little boy’s question yesterday about “how old the world is.”
I hear your mom was asking about evolution and, you know, it’s a theory that’s out there. It’s got some gaps in it, but in Texas we teach both creationism and evolution in our public schools. Because I figure you’re smart enough to figure out which one is right.
Perry’s comments seem fair, but secular critics are certain to blast Perry for calling evolution ‘a theory,’ suggesting that its not proven. Liberals love to pepper ‘creationist’ candidates with questions about the existance of dinosaurs and how old the earth is.
Update: It’s pretty obvious that this seemingly innocent little boy, is being prompted by his mother, who can be heard prompting her son in the background.
