Porn star Stormy Daniels said in a lawsuit filed Wednesday that her former attorney Keith Davidson betrayed her and became a “puppet” for President Trump and his personal lawyer Michael Cohen while he was still representing her.
The lawsuit, which was filed in a Los Angeles Superior Court, alleged that Davidson “hatched a plan” and “colluded” with Cohen to get Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, to deny a few months ago on Fox News that she had an affair with Trump more than 10 years ago.
“Mr. Davidson abdicated his role as an advocate and fiduciary of his client Ms. Clifford and instead elected to be a puppet for Mr. Cohen and Mr. Trump in order to advance their interests at the expense of Ms. Clifford,” the lawsuit says, according to NBC.
Clifford, who is now represented by Michael Avenatti, alleges in her lawsuit against Davidson and Cohen that Trump knew about the two attorneys’ communication, and was aware of the plan to coordinate strategies for his benefit.
The lawsuit also accuses Davidson of breaking attorney-client confidentiality by informing Cohen that Clifford was seeking a new attorney and that she was going to reveal in court documents details of the $130,000 payment she received from Cohen in exchange for her silence about the alleged affair.
