MISL re-configures scoring system

The goal that won the 2006 MISL Championship for the Blast will be worth twice as much in 2007.

In an attempt to increase scoring, the Major Indoor Soccer League announced a multi-point scoring system that will be implemented for the upcoming season.

All goals will be worth two points, while shots from outside the 45-foot arc are worth three. The system is similar to the one used from 1988 until 2003, when the league abolished the two- and three-point goals in favor of single-point scoring.

The Blast won their third championship in four seasons with a golden-goal win over St. Louis on April 30.
