Chicago Bears Super Bowl champ arrested on murder charge in Arizona

A former cornerback in the National Football League who played on the Chicago Bears Super Bowl team in 1985 has been arrested and is being held in connection with the death of a Phoenix man.

Michael Richardson, 59, was arrested by the Phoenix police on Wednesday and charged in the fatal shooting of 47-year-old Ronald Like.

Like was found with gunshot wounds on Wednesday morning and rushed to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Although the police have yet to confirm the arrest of Richardson, he was booked Wednesday and is being held without bond by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, according to their records, which show he is charged with murder, misconduct involving weapons, and a felony warrant.

Richardson has yet to appear before a judge, and it’s unclear if Richardson has hired an attorney.

Richardson was a two-time All-American at Arizona State University and played for more than five years with the bears. Richardson was part of the famous “Super Bowl Shuffle video,” which endeared the team to millions across the country.
