A law professor at Harvard University will offer legal support to members of the Electoral College who want to vote against President-elect Donald Trump.
Larry Lessig’s partnership with a California-based law firm will provide free legal assistance to electors who want to vote against Trump, but who live in states where it’s illegal to do so.
The effort, dubbed “The Electors Trust,” will help members strategize about stopping Trump, Politico reported.
“It makes no sense to be elector number five who comes out against Trump. But it might make sense to be elector 38,” Lessig told Politico.
Five-hundred and thirty-eight electors will cast their votes as part of the Electoral College process on Dec. 19.
