WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry is selling himself as a protector of Christmas and unborn babies in a mailer that the Perry campaign has sent to Iowa voters.
“Rick Perry believes federal judges have abused their lifetime appointments by rewriting the constitution and our laws from the bench,” the mailer says. “Whether it is unborn children, Christmas, or public references to God, nothing is sacred with liberal ideologues on the bench.”
The mailer, first reported by Chris Moody of Yahoo! News, is part of Perry’s newly-aggressive outreach to socially conservative voters in Iowa, South Carolina and other early primary states.
