Barack and Michelle Obama will gather in the White House later this afternoon with a group of moms. Their mission? To push Obamacare.
“[A]t approximately 2:00 pm eastern, President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will meet with a group of moms in the Oval Office. They will be joined by White House Senior Advisor and Chair of the White House Council on Women and Girls Valerie Jarrett. Several of the moms attending the meeting are helping to lead outreach efforts to let their friends, neighbors and kids take advantage of new health insurance options and protections under the Affordable Care Act. Moms have a unique role to play in helping young adults gain health care coverage. [Today] the White House will highlight that three million young adults gained health insurance because they can stay on their parents’ health plan until age 26,” says an unnamed White House official in an email to reporters.
