Jewish center plans College Fair

Teens applying to college can find a wide range of information Sunday at the Jewish Community Center?s annual College Fair.

Held at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC from 1 to 4 p.m., the fair will host representatives from about 50 colleges and universities across the country.

Prospective students can interview with college recruiters, listen to presentations on key elements of the college application process and discuss traveling to Israel as a college student and Jewish life on campus.

Admission to the fair is free.

Pie Jesu

A chamber chorus of 12 voices will perform the Requiem by Gabriel Faure on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. at The Catholic Community of St. Ignatius. Low strings, horns, harps and the organ will accompany the chorus. Admission to the concert and following reception are $15. Tickets are available before and after every Sunday Mass or by calling 410-727-3848.

St. Ignatius is located at 740 N. Calvert Street in Baltimore.

Youth Leader Training Event Learn how to keep students engaged and awake during Sunday school service at Rev. Mark Devries? workshops on Oct. 29.

Besides spicing up services, Rev. Devries will also teach the meaning of family-based youth ministry and how youth ministries can thrive.

Rev. Devries, a Tennessee native, is the founder of the Youth Ministry Architects, a coaching service for churches whose youth ministries are in transition or churches who hope to see their youth ministries move to the next level. His workshop will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Bel Air. Click here for more details.
