All aboard the Romo bandwagon

After being torched by Tony Romo in two different leagues last week as he threw for five touchdowns and more than 300 yards, I think I tore my ACL trying to jump on his bandwagon.

Romo could finish this season posting numbers very similar to those Kurt Warner had in his first year with the Rams. The Cowboys? finishing schedule ? Giants, Saints, Falcons, Eagles and Lions ? is relatively weak. This light schedule is going to make Romo look like the MVP and help some fantasy teams out tremendously. If Romo is still available in your league and you don?t have Peyton Manning, pick him up and insert him immediately into your starting lineup.

Yes, Shaun Alexander was playing a weak Packers defense, but it looks like he?s back. Alexander was this year?s victim of the Madden “cover jinx,” but it looks like he is ready to finish the season strong. A 40-carry night is a good sign that he is completely healthy and ready to roll.

Eli Manning is proving to the fantasy world that he is not his brother. In the Giants? last three games, he has thrown six interceptions and only two touchdowns. The picks have been a combination of bad decisions and not getting much help from his receivers. The Giants? offense has been stagnant, and it looks like they have big problems behind closed doors. If you own Manning and have other options at quarterback, you might want to consider using them until he shows some improvement.

Chad Johnson?s slow start is far behind him. In the Bengals? last three games, the wide receiver totaled 573 yards receiving and five touchdowns. He should continue to post good numbers, but nothing to that level the next two games against Baltimore and Oakland.

Here?s my fantasy advice for Week 13:

Give them the ball:

» Tom Brady: Based on what Joey Harrington just did to the Lions, Brady should have an excellent week against them.

» Larry Johnson: Obviously, you should always start him, but expect some huge numbers from him against a Browns defense that is simply pitiful.

» Terry Glenn: The Cowboys? offense is hot, and the Giants? defense is not. Glenn should have a good week.

» Torry Holt: He has been kept under wraps the last few weeks, but look for a breakout game against the Cardinals.

Show them the pine:

» Joey Harrington: The Jaguars? defense will make things tough on Harrington.

» David Carr: The Raiders? defense isn?t as bad as the offense, and Carr will find that out the hard way.

» Chester Taylor: The Bears? defense will slow Taylor and the Vikings.

» Lee Evans: He won?t enjoy any long gains against the Chargers.

Good luck in Week 13 … and keep in mind, I?m only an accountant.
