It might be time to consider putting a new name in the 2020 Democratic presidential hat: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
According to a new 2020 poll, the powerful House speaker who many say won the border wall battle with President Trump is the most popular Democrat in America.
“Warren and Harris score best with women Democrats, but one woman politician is even more popular,” headlines the latest Economist/YouGov poll.
“Currently, the most popular politician among Democrats is another woman, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Her popularity has risen since the beginning of the year. She is just as popular now with Democratic men as with Democratic women,” said the survey.
While Pelosi hasn’t publicly considered a 2020 bid, the numbers show that she tops the other major contenders, including Sens. Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, and Kirsten Gillibrand. She did get a little push to mull a 2020 bid in this column from the Washington Examiner‘s Tiana Lowe.
Of those running, Warren edges Harris among Democrats.
