LAROSE, La. (AP) — Danos, a Larose-based oilfield service company, plans to create 150 jobs by opening a new fabrication yard in Amelia.
The family-owned company, which builds a variety of structures and equipment used in offshore oil and gas drilling and production, plans to open the 120,000-square-foot facility in October on 45 acres of waterfront property.
Eric Danos, executive vice president, tells The Courier (http://bit.ly/1ohN9lt ) the company’s current fabrication shop, a 14,000-square-foot, 50-employee operation located in Larose, will remain open.
Danos says that will allow the company to continue offering rapid response to clients in and around Port Fourchon, a service hub for the Gulf of Mexico oilfield.
The current yard will also allow the company handle piping and smaller structural projects, a service it has provided for more than 40 years.
