Michael Cohen postpones testimony to Senate Intelligence Committee

Michael Cohen has postponed testifying to Congress again.

President Trump’s former longtime lawyer was subpoenaed to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Tuesday, but Lanny Davis, an adviser to Cohen, said Monday the panel agreed to postpone the appearance “due to post-surgery medical needs.”

Just last week, Cohen’s planned testimony before the the House Intelligence Committee was pushed back until Feb. 28. The delay was the second instance in which a date had been scrapped. Cohen had been scheduled to testify privately to the House committee last Friday as part of its investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Cohen was also set to testify before the House Oversight Committee last week, but postponed it in January citing “ongoing threats” by Trump and his lawyer Rudy Giuliani. That testimony has not yet been rescheduled.

The clock is ticking for Cohen to testify before he reports to prison March 6 for his three-year sentence after he pleaded guilty to a handful of crimes, including illegal campaign contributions, lying to Congress, and bank fraud.
