FORT MONTGOMERY, N.Y. (AP) — A historic site in the Hudson Valley is offering nighttime tours of the grounds where American and British forces fought a bloody battle 235 years ago this month.
The Fort Montgomery State Historic Site in Orange County is conducting “lantern tours” of the battle site at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Re-enactors will depict scenes from the fort’s dramatic history while giving tours of the ruins along the Hudson River’s west bank, just south of West Point.
