A storm in Bertie County, North Carolina, left at least two people dead and three others missing after a tornado touched down.
Two children and one adult are among those who have been reported as missing after the tornado hit a mobile home park on Tuesday morning. At least 20 others were injured during the storm, according to ABC 11. The tornado was part of a larger string of storms that have precipitated out of Hurricane Isaias as it spins up the East Coast of the United States.

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, a Democrat, addressed the storms during an interview on ABC’s Good Morning America. He mourned those who died in the storm and expressed relief that the storm ripped through the area quickly to avoid major flooding. At the time of the interview, only one death had been reported.
“All in all, this storm got in and got out pretty quickly,” Cooper said. “And that’s a good sign for potential flooding, which we hope will not be serious. So we’re, of course, saddened by the one fatality that we know, at least that we have, but we know overall that this storm, moving quickly, that the damage was not anywhere as great as it could have been.”
Isaias hit Florida over the weekend and has been working its way north since reaching land. The deaths in North Carolina were the first reported deaths from Isaias.
