Gov. Chris Christie to make cameo on ‘Michael J. Fox Show’

Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) will play himself on an episode of the “Michael J. Fox Show” come fall, according to the Huffington Post.

The announcement Monday marks Christie’s first time doing a scripted show. Besides the late night rounds, Christie previously appeared on “Saturday Night Live,” wearing his famed fleece jacket.

“I’m going to die in this fleece,” he joked, noting that it was fused to his body in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

In the new show, Michael J. Fox’s character, Mike Henry, has retired from broadcast journalism because of the onset of Parkinson’s disease. But five years later, when the comedy starts off, Henry has decided he wants back in the game. And with great fanfare, (including more cameos from the “Today” show’s Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie) he returns to the airwaves.

“The Michael J. Fox Show” debuts Sept. 26 on NBC.
