Chris Christie ‘thinking about’ 2016 run, won’t make this ‘enormous decision’ until the end of the year

The latest update about whether New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) will run for president in 2016 is that there is no update. And this status is unlikely to change until the end of this year or the beginning of next.

Speaking at an Ocean City, N.J. town hall meeting Thursday, the governor told attendees that while he is considering a presidential run, he won’t make a final decision until after the November elections.

“I’m thinking about it,” Christie was quoted by the Newark Star Ledger as saying. “It is an enormous decision to make not only for me, but my family. Probably by the end of this year or the beginning of next I’ll decide.”

Christie is one of the names batted around most by pundits for the 2016 Republican primary.

In addition to fielding questions about his plans for 2016, Christie leveled criticisms at the president for his handling of the border crisis and his implementation of tax and health care reform.

America needs a new vision in these three arenas, Christie said. Whether Christie will be the one to supply that vision in 2016 remains to be seen.
