Donald Trump’s promise to enforce immigration law has been met with scorn by liberal pundits, but the hatred has peaked when a 20-year-old unauthorized immigrant from the United Kingdom tried to kill the Republican frontrunner.

Michael Sandford claimed he was unemployed and living in his car in California when he overstayed his visa, was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, and became inspired to drive to Las Vegas on Thursday to assassinate Donald Trump, reported Las Vegas Now.

During Trump’s rally on Saturday, the British national attempted to grab a police officer’s gun to shoot the presidential candidate when he was tackled to the ground.

Prosecutors claim that Sandford has never been diagnosed with any form of autism and he was well aware of his actions at the time. He told investigators that, hours before the event began, he visited the Battlefield Vegas gun range on Friday, where he “fired 20 rounds.”

Further proving it wasn’t a spur of the moment event driven by his mental instability was Sandford’s confession to Secret Service Special Agent Jason Swierkowski that he planned to kill Trump for a year “but decided to act on this occasion because he finally felt confident about trying it,” Heavy reported.

He admitted to police that he would try to kill Trump again if he could and actually had tickets to attend a Trump rally in Phoenix as well.

According to early court documents, the British millennial thought of it as a suicide mission acknowledging that “he would be killed by law enforcement during his attempt on Trump’s life.”
