Lifehouse to sing at Nats Park, sightsee in D.C.

If you like the group Lifehouse, then you probably love lead vocalist and guitarist Jason Wade. After Yeas & Nays interviewed him on Wednesday afternoon, it’s easy to see why.

Lifehouse will be performing a free concert for fans after the Washington Nationals face off against the New York Mets on Saturday afternoon at Nationals Park.

“This is the third baseball event that we have done, but the first one at Nats [Park]. We all love baseball so it worked out perfectly,” said Wade.

Even though the easy-to-talk-to talent grew up in Seattle, he assured us likes the Nats. He just doesn’t have a favorite player. “I like all of them,” he said.

As for his favorite baseball team, that’s a different story. “We’re not supposed to say,” he joked. “I’m kind of old school but my favorite team of all time is that Ken Griffey Jr. team from back in the day, back in the ’90s,” he admitted.

Wade has performed in D.C. before, but told us he’s never had a day off during his visits and is looking forward to taking advantage of this trip. “I love D.C., actually. We are staying for an extra two or three days to kind of do the tourist thing before we play a show in Virginia. I’m really excited to have a couple of days off.”

Among the places he and the group plan to check out while they are here are the White House and the Lincoln Memorial.

After all that sightseeing, the band plans on checking out some restaurants. “We’re all foodies,” Wade shared. Luckily for them, they’ll get the chance to meet some of our local celebrity chefs, including Mike Isabella and Spike Mendelsohn, when they attend Sunday’s Wounded Warrior Amputee Celebrity Softball Game as guests. Isabella and Mendelsohn will be participating in the game to help raise money for the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team.
