BLOTTER

Shots fired on Route 50 Maryland State Police say a man opened fire on another car while driving on Route 50 near Cheverly early Sunday morning.

Three men told police they were driving eastbound near Kenilworth Avenue about 4 a.m. when a green 1990s Chevrolet Malibu pulled in front of them.

A man in the backseat of the Malibu stared at them; as the three men pulled into the next lane and passed the Malibu, they heard gunshots.

Terrified, they drove away, but a flat tire stopped their Chevrolet Monte Carlo near Route 202 and 75th Avenue. Police found bullet impact sites on the car’s bumper and trunk.

An inspection of the bullet holes and casings indicated that the weapon was a semiautomatic.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident or the Malibu to call 301-325-3101.
