Mike Pence refuses to say whether he thinks the Justice Department is ‘doing their job’: Watch

Vice President Mike Pence refused to comment on whether he thought the Department of Justice was doing “their job” after President Trump called on the federal department to investigate political opponents, including Bill and Hillary Clinton. “I think the president said as he was leaving on this trip to the Asia-Pacific that he just thinks he’d like to see the DOJ just do their job and I believe that the American people understand that and respect that,” Pence told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

But Pence would not explain whether he thought the Justice Department’s law enforcement agencies were satisfactorily discharging their duties.

“The president expressed that he’d like to see them do their job in a broad range of areas and I’ll leave it at that,” Pence told host Maria Bartiromo. “I think he has expressed himself very clearly, Maria.”

Trump told reporters on Friday that the Justice Department should be looking into the “dishonesty” of the Democrats.

“I think the one thing people here in Pennsylvania like about President Trump is you always know where he stands,” Pence added, referring to whether the interview was taped prior to being aired Sunday. “He speaks his mind and sometimes he just tweets his mind.”
