Two of Mike Huckabee’s favorite targets are Washington and American culture. Now the 2016 hopeful has linked the two in a new ad panning the nation’s capital as a “strip club”.
“Washington, it’s a strip club,” says a voiceover at the beginning of the 30-second spot released by Huckabee’s campaign Thursday morning. “The political dances for the donor class – and the working class gets stuck with the tab.”
After pictures of crumpled up dollar bills and stripper poles fade away, Huckabee appears while driving his car.
“Americans are tired of it,” says Huckabee, who is currently 11th in the Washington Examiner‘s latest power rankings. “They’re tired of corrupt Washington elites. Let’s burn down the Washington political machine and rebuild this country.”
The former Arkansas governor then argues that it’s time for “America to win again,” rather than “leading from behind” or “losing.”
It is unknown where the ad will air or if it is web-only. The Huckabee campaign did not immediately respond to the Examiner‘s request for comment.
Huckabee, who has yet to gain much traction with the electorate, is currently tied for eighth with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie in the GOP field, according to the RealClearPolitics national average. In addition, the former Fox News host also sits seventh in Iowa as he tries to replicate his 2008 caucus victory.
