Colin Kaepernick heckled outside Madison Square Garden

NFL quarterback-turned-activist Colin Kaepernick was verbally harassed Wednesday outside New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

Kaepernick was leaving the New York Knicks-Memphis Grizzlies game with director Spike Lee when the heckling began, according to a report.

“Get out of here,” one person called out.

“You’re a bum. Could never throw a football.”

Kaepernick is reportedly working with Lee on an ESPN documentary, the report noted.

The controversial quarterback blew up the sports world in 2016 when he began kneeling during the national anthem in protest of social injustice and racism.

He was forced out of the NFL by the end of that season and has not taken the field as a professional since.

Still, he maintains that he is ready for a return to the NFL, according to the report.
