In bold letters in all caps, “CHILDREN UNDER 10 WILL NO LONGER BE PERMITTED TO DINE AT NETTIE’S” said the social media post on a picture of pasta.
“We love kids. We really, truly, do. But lately, it’s been extremely challenging to accommodate children at Nettie’s,” insisted the owners of Nettie’s.
They went on to explain that the “noise levels” and “lack of space for high chairs, cleaning up crazy messes, and the liability of children running around the restaurant, we have decided that it’s time to take control of the situation.”
The restaurant cited “some recent events have pushed us to implement this new policy.”
“We know that this is going to make some of you very upset, especially those of you with very well-behaved kids, but we believe this is the right decision for our business moving forward,” the popular Italian restaurant wrote on Facebook.
Some commenters shared their support for the decision, calling it “a good policy” and a “fantastic idea.”
Others were sad to hear the news.
“With a well-behaved nine-year-old, I’m not welcome,” wrote one woman in response to the post.

The restaurant responded to one supporter, noting that “it’s become a liability to us — kids running around the restaurant in circles when we’re trying to carry trays of food and drinks.”
The ban is reportedly beginning on March 8.
