Fox News host Sean Hannity castigated House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for her comment to senior Democrats that she wants to see President Trump behind bars.
“Based on no actual crimes, she wants a political opponent locked up in prison? That happens in banana republics. Beyond despicable behavior. And by the way, they would literally turn, in many ways, the U.S.A. into a country we no longer recognize,” Hannity said Thursday.

Pelosi told a gathering of top Democratic lawmakers Tuesday night that she would like to see Trump jailed. “I don’t want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison,” she said.
The California Democrat also reiterated her stance that she would rather see Trump defeated at the ballot box during the 2020 elections and then prosecuted for alleged crimes that she believes he might have committed.
Hannity’s condemnation of Pelosi comes after years of Trump and his supporters calling for his 2016 rival Hillary Clinton to be locked up for her use of an unauthorized, private email server while serving as secretary of state.
