The White House Correspondents Association has postponed its annual dinner as the coronavirus continues to spread worldwide.
WHCA Executive Director Steven Thomma announced the decision on Sunday. While Thomma said the press group was still planning on holding the event, he was unable to provide a new date.
“The White House Correspondents’ Association regrets to announce that it is unable to go ahead with its 2020 dinner on April 25. We will get back to you soon with our alternative date,” Thomma said.

President Trump has yet to attend one of the dinners during his presidency and has skipped the past three while slamming the events as “boring” and “negative.”
This year’s event was set to bring comedy back to the tradition with Kenan Thompson of Saturday Night Live hosting, and Hasan Minhaj listed as a featured entertainer. It is unclear if the lineup will remain unchanged when the event is rescheduled.
