And John McCain.
Finally, a celebrity who isn’t endorsing Obama! Us Weekly reports:
The New York Times recently called Heidi Montag a “feminist hero” for standing up to beau Spencer Pratt, but the Hills star, 21, isn’t backing Hillary Clinton for president. “I’m voting for John McCain,” she tells Us Weekly in its latest issue, on newsstands now. “I’m a Republican and McCain has a lot of experience,” she explains.
I’m sure it’s pointless to defend the gals on my favorite guilty-pleasure TV show, but perhaps Heidi, at least, is smarter than we think. Besides, she’s stomped her stilettoed feet up the Hollywood PR career ladder and seems to have gotten rid of Spencer Pratt, so she deserves some credit. But TMZ says of the endorsement, “McCain goes down the drain.” Of course, TMZ also mocked efforts to recover the bodies of American soldiers killed in Vietnam, Korea, and the Second World War as a “ridiculous waste” of money–so maybe they don’t really have their finger on the pulse of the nation when it comes to good politics.
