Amazon stops selling shirt showing Nazi executing Jewish man

Amazon has removed the sale of an assortment of clothes emblazoned with a photograph of a Holocaust victim being executed during World War II.

The photo, known as The last Jew in Vinnitsa, shows a Jewish man kneeling over a mass grave while a Nazi officer points a gun to the back of his head. About two dozen other Nazis stand in the foreground as the man gazes out of the frame moments before his death.

Amazon took down the clothing, which included unisex tank tops, t-shirts, and hoodies, after an Israeli news network contacted the online retail giant. The sellers “Harma Art” wrote in the descriptions of the anti-Semitic clothing, “Choose from our great collection of authentic designs and stand out from the crowd!”

Last month, Amazon removed a number of anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi books, such as The Jew as World Parasite and Judas: The World Enemy. In 2017 it also removed a number of titles including, Holocaust: The Greatest Lie Ever Told and The Hoax of the Twentieth Century: The Case Against the Presumed Extermination of European Jewry.

Amazon still lists some historic anti-Semitic literature, like The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion, which includes a disclaimer from Amazon that reads, “Amazon does not endorse The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion. This book is one of the most infamous, and tragically influential, examples of racist propaganda ever written. It may be useful to some as a tool in the teaching of the history of anti-Semitism, but it’s unquestionably propaganda.”
