Huckabee: Establishment GOP is ‘bed-wetting’ over Trump

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said that establishment Republicans are “bed-wetting” over the idea of GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump winning the nomination, and said that’s part of the reason why Trump won big on Super Tuesday.

“Here’s what I think is happening: The establishment Republicans are all bed-wetting over this, and they don’t seem to understand that we have an election,” the former GOP presidential hopeful said on “Fox and Friends” Wednesday.

“If you want to oppose Donald Trump, do it. But don’t pretend somehow that all these voters who have gone out and voted for him are stupid,” said Huckabee, who ended his own presidential campaign in February. “They’re not stupid … .They’re angry.”

“Paul Ryan and other people in Washington need to recognize the reason Trump is winning is because they feel like people in Washington have helped them lose, and they’re sick of it,” he added.

Huckabee, who has yet to endorse in the 2016 race and has said he will not do so, has come to Trump’s defense often in recent weeks.

Trump won seven of 11 states on Super Tuesday.
