Vice President Mike Pence used a personal email account for state business as governor of Indiana, according to a report.
Over an AOL email account, Pence discussed “sensitive matters and homeland security issues.”
The Indianapolis Star learned of the emails through a public records request. Current Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb’s office released more than 30 pages from the AOL account.
Pence was a vocal critic of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server throughout the campaign.
The report says Pence’s account was hacked last summer when a scammer sent an email to his contacts claiming Pence and his wife, Karen, were stranded in the Philippines needed money. It is still not known for sure if Clinton’s email was hacked.
