Huckabee: Clinton surrounded by guns protecting her since 1970s

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee Sunday sharply criticized what he perceived as Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s hypocrisy on gun rights and restrictions.

“She is surrounded by people who are armed and has been for most all of her adult life going back into the 1970s; that’s the last time she was not accompanied by someone who was armed and ready to protect her,” Huckabee told Fox News. “But most Americans don’t have that opportunity, they have to take care of themselves. And Hillary would take away the ability of a typical American citizen from defending themselves their homes and their families.”

He continued, “And that’s why Donald Trump had better be elected president or this is going to be a much more dangerous country.”

Huckabee waited to endorse Trump until after his fellow Republican presidential candidates all exited the 2016 race. He has since expressed interest in becoming Trump’s running mate if Trump is interested in him.
