The United States will have a new president and vice president this summer … at least if you’re watching “Sharknado 3.”
Mark Cuban and Ann Coulter will play the president and vice president, respectively, in the made-for-television movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film — which is the third in the “Sharknado” series and will take place in Washington, D.C. — is set to premiere on the SyFy Channel in July.
Cuban and Coulter are rather appropriate choices for the “Sharknado” roles, as the first is a star of “Shark Tank” — get it?! –and the second has much experience with politics as a conservative commentator.
However, fans of the series are still probably waiting for some politicians to sign on for cameos. After all, “Sharknado” star Tara Reid said earlier this year that the film’s creators would try to get “some political people” involved.
“If you’re thinking like Washington, D.C., I’m sure we’re going to have to get some political people definitely involved,” the actress explained on an Australian radio show. “Do I think we’re going to get Barack Obama? I doubt it, but you never know.”
Obama and Biden might not agree to participate, but the film will definitely have some interesting cameos. Bo Derek, Jerry Springer, Chris Jericho and Chris Kirkpatrick of ‘N SYNC fame are some celebrities who have already signed on to appear in the film.
