Woman indicted in Adams Morgan pedestrian death

A 24-year-old Prince George’s County woman has been indicted in connection with a crash in Adams Morgan that killed one pedestrian and critically injured another.

The accident took place Sept. 8, at Florida Avenue and 18th Street NW. Adams’ vehicle hit two women, and plowed into Keren Restaurant. One of the woman, 26-year-old Julia Bachleitner of Austria, died six days later.

The D.C. Superior Court grand jury  returned an indictment charging Chamica Adams, of Mitchellville, with involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, driving while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Adams is scheduled to be arraigned in court Jan. 14.
