Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson announced his newborn baby’s name amid the team’s Super Bowl win.
Jefferson and his wife Samaria welcomed a baby boy on Feb. 13, the day of the NFL’s championship game.
“Champ Curtis Jefferson,” the NFL star told The Adam Schefter Podcast. “That’s the name we got.”
The receiver said they also consider names such as “Wynn” and “Miles” but settled on “Champ” after learning its meaning.
“We just looked it up, and ‘Champ’ is like a warrior,” Van told TMZ. “And my wife is a warrior.” According to TMZ, Samaria watched the game live before going into labor and having to be carried out of SoFi Stadium on a stretcher.

Jefferson leaned down to his two other children and told them they needed to leave.
“Mommy’s gonna have your brother,” he told them. “So, we got to get to the hospital.”
As a “push present,” Jefferson reportedly bought Samaria a Range Rover.
