Pope Francis accidentally tweeted out a blessing for the New Orleans Saints hours before the NFL team was scheduled to play the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The pope tweeted on Sunday morning about five new saints who were canonized by the Catholic Church, using the hashtag “#Saints.” The social media platform automatically added the logo of the New Orleans football team to the tweet, giving an alternate and unintended meaning to the pope’s early morning message.
“Today we give thanks to the Lord for our new #Saints. They walked by faith and now we invoke their intercession,” Francis tweeted.

The Saints (5-1) came out on top of the Jaguars (2-4) hours later, beating the team from Florida 13-6. The Saints’ Twitter account responded to the pope, thanking the pontiff for his support.
“Couldn’t lose after this. #Blessed and highly favored,” the Saints tweeted.
