Man charged in courthouse bomb threat
A Landover man was arrested after he allegedly called in a bomb threat to the Prince William County Judicial Center that caused the courthouse to be evacuated and nearby roads to be closed.
David Heron, 47, was in the courthouse earlier Tuesday to get paperwork, said Prince William County police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok. Heron was asked to leave after he became disorderly with staff, police said.
Shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday, Heron called police dispatchers and said there was a bomb in the courthouse, according to police. No explosive device was found, and the area was cleared shortly after 6 p.m.
Heron was taken into custody Wednesday, police said.
