President-elect Trump ratcheted up his attacks against CNN Thursday, and said the news outlet’s credibility is on the line for publishing “fake news.”
Writing Thursday on Twitter, a day after Trump refused to allow a CNN correspondent to speak at a press conference, Trump again lashed out at the network for publishing an unconfirmed report this week.
“CNN is in a total meltdown with their FAKE NEWS because their ratings are tanking since election and their credibility will soon be gone!” he wrote.
The report, based on anonymous allegations by a former British intelligence officer, stated that Russia had compromising personal and financial information related to Trump.
Trump, at the press conference, denied the report’s contents and accused CNN of running “fake news.”
