Poll: One Republican beats all potential Democrats

A new poll by SurveyUSA released late Friday night has one Republican beating the three likely potential Democratic nominees Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) Vice President Joe Biden, and former Vice President Al Gore.

In a head-to-head matchup, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump defeats Hillary Clinton by a margin of 45 to 40 percent, respectively.

Against Sanders, the main Democratic alternative, Trump is ahead four points, 44 to 40 percent.

Even though Gore and Biden have not announced their intentions to run, Trump leads the former vice president by 44 to 41 percent and the current vice president 44 to 42 percent.

This is a dramatic decline for Clinton who led Trump in a CNN/ORC poll in late June by 25 points, 59 percent to 34 percent respectively.

The poll sampled 1,000 adults from Sept. 2 to 3. It contained a 3.3 percent margin of error.
