Golden State Warriors star and four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry was honored in a one-man graduation ceremony Wednesday after completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Davidson College in May.
“Some things are worth the wait! #30 up in the rafters looks right! Humbled and blessed to be up there with the @DavidsonWildcat legends. #TCC forever,” tweeted Curry, 34. “ALWAYS a great day to be a Wildcat!”

Thousands gathered for the event, and Curry’s father, former NBA shooting guard Dell Curry, spoke about his son’s accomplishment, according to a report.

“This is awesome, man,” Dell Curry said. “This is good stuff here. Coach, this might be the best day ever to be a Wildcat!”
While at the North Carolina school, Curry was instrumental in Davidson’s “Cinderella Story” run into the Elite Eight of the 2008 NCAA Tournament.
He left to join the Warriors in 2009.

Aside from gifting Curry his diploma, Davidson also retired his No. 30 jersey.
It is the first time the school has retired a number, according to the report.
