Here’s what we should probably expect from Hasan Minhaj, the comedian headlining the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner will have a headline act after all.

The Daily Show’s Hasan Minhaj has been tapped to deliver the gags at this year’s chummy co-mingling of journalists and politicians in the nation’s capital.

Minhaj’s style is explicitly political, so don’t be surprised if there’s more of the same at the dinner.

Considering the controversy surrounding newsrooms protesting the event over President Trump’s criticisms of certain newsgroups and reporters, there’s a good chance Minhaj will address all of this head-on with barbs aimed directly at the new administration.

Here are some examples of Minhaj’s style of political humor, which have been helpfully compiled by Axios’ Stef W. Kight:

  • “The Daily Show,” January 30: “Usually, being a Muslim in an airport sucks, but this weekend, it was like I was The Weeknd. I mean I land at JFK, I get to the arrival section. Literally, three white people run up to me, hug me and say ‘thank you for being Muslim.’ I’m 31 years old. That’s the first time anyone has thanked me for being Muslim.”
  • “The Daily Show,” January 30: “Here’s the beautiful irony. For years, Donald Trump has been terrified of the spread of Islam in America [an image appears on screen showing a protester holding a sign that reads: “We are all Muslim now.”] Well, congratulations, Mr. President. Mission accomplished.”
  • “The Daily Show,” Dec. 8, 2015: I’m panicking because melanin doesn’t rub off … For the past 15 years, I’ve been blamed for 9/11. White Americans are now responsible for 11/9.” “Donald Trump is white ISIS. ‘Whisis.'”
  • “The Daily Show,” Dec. 8, 2015: “Look, I know there’s just a lot of nuance to the situation, and every conservative isn’t the same, I know, but it’s just easier on my brain to be irrationally afraid of an entire group of people. So, until we can figure out what’s going on here, I, Hasan J. Minhaj, say we should not allow any conservatives into the White House.”
  • Twitter, June 16, 2015: “I didn’t know you start foaming at the mouth when you say ‘I hate the Chinese’ 50 times in a row. Thank you Donald Trump.”

Then there’s this earnest speech from June 15, 2016, which Minhaj delivered at the annual Radio and Television Correspondents Association dinner.

“What we saw in Orlando was one of the ugliest cocktails of the problems that we still see here in America, a cocktail of homophobia, xenophobia, lack of access to mental health care, and sheer lack of political will,” he said in reference to the Pulse nightclub shooting.

“All of us satirists, we’ve all been yelling out, crying out for change. The sad reality is that we are all complicit in what happened,” he added.

Expect more of the same at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner this year.

Past emcees have included former Daily Show host Jon Stewart and former Daily show contributor Stephen Colbert.
