MinuteClinic, the retail health care division of CVS, and Northern Virginia’s Inova Health System are collaborating to give healthcare services running the gammut from treating the common cold to major surgery.

Under the agreement, Inova will collaborate with MinuteClinic’s medical directors, who may include Inova-affiliated family physicians, on patient education and care management. The two will also throw business each others’ way by informing “patients of the services each offers.” “Inova will accept patients who need a level of care that is not provided at MinuteClinic,” and the clinic will advertise Inova at its Northern Virginia locations, a press release announcing the partnership said.
