Donald Trump has a very direct message for Anthony Weiner.
“Anthony Weiner, you’re sick, you’re fired,” the Republican mogul scolded via a Vine video Friday. He reiterated this message on Twitter. “Wacko pervert @AnthonyWeiner’s idea of Hispanic outreach is using Carlos Danger as his sexting [name],” Trump wrote. “He’s an insensitive racist.”
Trump has been a foe of Weiner’s since the original Weinergate. (Though, according to the Daily Caller, the businessman donated to Friends of Weiner twice, years before the scandal.)
The Donald decided to speak out Friday because Weiner, a Trump operative said, is a “reckless, useless, non-productive member” who used his elected offices as a soapbox.
“The sexting really disgusted Mr. Trump. He has a daughter and grandchildren. He employs women across his organization. Weiner’s sick obsession with showing his junk to young girls is abhorrent to Mr. Trump,” the operative added.
On Friday, Trump also hinted that he might be interested in a presidential run. Speaking with the National Review’s Robert Costa, Trump said he planned to head to Iowa, which holds the first caucuses, early next month. “I’m looking–I have a large following of people who are tired of seeing this country ripped off and taken advantage of [by] everyone who does business with us,” he told Costa. “We used to be the smart one of the block, and now we’re the dummies on the block.”
Trump mulled a presidential bid back in 2011, but decided to hold off. He aligned himself with the “birthers,” calling into question President Obama’s birth certificate. Obama responded publicly, using his White House Correspondents’ Dinner speech in 2011 to roast the “Apprentice” host.
This time around, Trump said he’s approaching politics more slowly. “I want to watch what happens with the 2014 elections, and then make a final decision after those elections,” Trump told the National Review.
