“Hamilton” creator Lin-Manuel Miranda tweeted to President Trump that “there will be a lot of American deaths on your watch” if disaster funding is not sent to Puerto Rico soon.

“Hey @realDonaldTrump you can’t wait that long. There will be a lot of American deaths on your watch if you wait that long,” Manuel tweeted in reply to a report that the Trump administration will be sending a disaster aid request to Congress in the first or second week of October.
Puerto Rico is currently suffering from a total loss of power and widespread damage across the island after being struck by Hurricanes Maria and Irma.
Miranda, who has family ties to Puerto Rico, tweeted on Sunday that he has been reaching out to “every famous Puerto Rican singer I know and several I don’t” in order to raise money for disaster relief efforts.
