Tickets to Sean Spicer’s White House memoir release party going for as much as $1,000

Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer is charging $250 for general admission to his book party for his upcoming memoir “The Briefing.”

The New York Times reported Friday that Spicer is having a party to launch his book on Tuesday in D.C., where two general admission tickets, known as the “Assistant Press Secretary” level, will cost $250. Signed books are part of the package. The “Deputy Press Secretary” level, costing $500, includes two tickets to the party and V.I.P. reception and signed books. If you purchase “Press Secretary” tickets, you’ll get four tickets, personalized books, and access to the V.I.P. reception, but that will run you $1,000.

An additional “press corps” level ticket can be purchased for $50.

Being invited by Spicer himself or the party’s sponsors means you’re getting in free, the publication reported, though you’ll still be expected to purchase the memoir.

On Thursday, Spicer is having an invitation-only party at the Trump International Hotel, just blocks from the White House. Cabinet officials, lawmakers, White House staffers, pundits, and members of the press are expected to attend, Spicer said.

Spicer is not charging attendees. The Trumps are charging him $10,000 to use space in the hotel lobby.

“The Briefing” is being released Tuesday.
