Video: Net neutrality activists storm FCC chairman’s home

President Obama voiced his support of net neutrality on Monday, stating the Internet should be reclassified as a utility. Activists are making sure FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler gets the message.

In a video released Monday, radical protestors from Internet activist organization Popular Resistance stormed Wheeler’s private residence blocking the driveway as the FCC Chairman attempted to drive away.

The protesters chanted their demand that Wheeler reclassify the internet as a utility under Title II of the Telecommunications Act. While Wheeler reiterated previous statements that multiple solutions including reclassification were being discussed, that was not enough to placate the protesters who in addition to stating that Wheeler “works for Comcast” refused to leave their positions in front of his driveway.

When Wheeler pointed out to the mob that they were protesting for their right to net neutrality while hypocritically violating his civil liberties, the protesters comically agreed. “It’s civil disobedience,” said a protester behind the camera. “It’s a violation of your technical right for the greater good.” Another activist said, “It’s the only moral choice we have.”

The protesters pledged to escalate demonstrations until Title II regulations are adopted characterizing their threats as a “natural process.”
