What is it? Wine That Loves, a line of wines new to Maryland, is meant to eliminate moments agonizing in the store over which wine to serve with your meal. To underscore the simplicity of the Wine That Loves concept, labels on the bottles include a picture of a chicken, steak, salmon, forkful of twirled spaghetti or a slice of pizza. The bottles also feature a sommelier grid describing why the wine works well with the intended food. Low in tannins, the red-fruit Wine That Loves Pizza will not force you to pucker or zap your mouth of moisture. Just the opposite, a sip of the slightly sweet wine brightens a mouthful of crisp crust, gooey cheese and zesty tomato sauce. Glasses of the well-balanced wine with a medium acidity interplay perfectly with your pizza, enhancing the dish most likely cheaper than the wine itself.
Wherecan you get it? The Wine Source, 3601 Elm Ave. in Baltimore, and East Port Liquors, 1007 Bay Ridge Ave. in Annapolis
