A woman claims she is the secret daughter of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.
Alexandra Davis, a 25-year-old congressional aide, filed a lawsuit in Dallas County, Texas, last Thursday claiming that the 79-year-old businessman and her mother had a relationship that resulted in her birth Dec. 16, 1996, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and that Jones “abandoned and shunned” Davis and forced her to live in secrecy, according to the Dallas Morning News. The young woman is asking the court to release her from the confidentiality agreement she says was made between her mother and Jones.
Davis’s mother, Cynthia, who was an American Airlines ticket counter in Little Rock, divorced her estranged husband shortly after Davis was born, according to the lawsuit. During the divorce proceedings, genetic testing determined that Davis was not the child of Cynthia Davis’s ex. The lawsuit says Jones and his lawyers negotiated a settlement with Cynthia Davis that would “exchange money for silence,” giving her $27,000 to help with her divorce proceedings and another $30,000 to extend negotiations in “good faith.”

Court documents say there was a settlement agreement in August 1998 to give Cynthia Davis a lump sum payment of $375,000 and two trusts for Alexandra Davis in exchange for the confidentiality of Jones’s connection to the two. Alexandra Davis was to receive “certain monthly, annual and special funding” from the trusts until she turned 21 as well as yearly lump sums when she turned 24, 26, and 28, court documents state.
“The combined effects of the aforementioned agreements and Cynthia’s divorce proceedings resulted in Plaintiff never having a legal father,” the lawsuit read. “To add incredible insult to injury, Plaintiff has had to spend her entire life hiding and concealing who her real father is. Defendant Jones’ only role in Plaintiff’s life to date other than to shun her, has been to coerce her from ever disclosing his identity.”
Jones and his wife, Gene, married in 1963 and have three children, Stephen, Jerry Jr., and Charlotte Jones Anderson, according to ESPN.
Alexandra Davis now works as an aide to Rep. Ronny Jackson, a Texas Republican. She previously worked in the White House for 14 months during Donald Trump‘s presidency.
The lawsuit was sealed Wednesday ahead of a hearing scheduled for March 31, but the Dallas Morning News obtained a copy before it could be concealed. ESPN reported that Jim Wilkinson, a spokesman for Jones, declined to comment.
