This Democratic congressman clearly suffers from football-in-mouth disease.
Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) recently told a reporter that Eli and Peyton Manning “don’t do sexual assaults against people, other than their wives,” according to video posted on TMZ Friday.

Specifically, the congressman was asked about the sexual assault allegations against Tennessee Titans nose tackle Sammie Hill.
“I don’t keep up with football, except college football,” responded Cohen, “unless it’s Eli Manning or Peyton Manning.”
Then, he just kept talking.
“Eli and Peyton don’t do sexual assaults against people, other than their wives,” Cohen added.
The Manning brothers — Eli on the New York Giants and Peyton on the Denver Broncos — both play quarterback in the NFL.
According to The Hill, a spokesman for the congressman said that the admission was merely a misstatement on Cohen’s behalf.
“Congressman Cohen misspoke, abhors sexual violence of any kind, is a fan of both Manning brothers, and deeply regrets any confusion,” explained Cohen’s communications director Ben Garmisa. “His intention was simply to indicate that Eli and Peyton are in committed, monogamous marriages.”
Unfortunately, his words indicated something quite different.
Both Eli and Peyton Manning are married, and neither of their wives has ever made a sexual assault accusation against them.
